DeckBall taught us something we didn't expect: the features players talked about the most weren't the mechanics — they were the stories. The dating app, the NPCs with opinions, the career arcs. People stayed for the fiction. Synapse takes that lesson and builds a whole app around it: no pitch, no cards, just you, a character, and a story that reacts to every line you write.
Chat & Live the Story
Core LoopDive into romantic tension, drama, mystery, and adventure. Every character answers in their own voice, and as the conversation unfolds, the story is shaped by your choices — not a fixed script. No two playthroughs of the same story read the same way.
- AI characters with distinct voices and personalities
- Romance, drama, mystery, and adventure genres
- Stories that branch on your choices, mid-conversation

Built Safely
Under the HoodSynapse is a soft 16+ experience: romantic tension and drama are encouraged, explicit sexual content is banned, and content passes through AI moderation. On the technical side, no API keys ever ship inside the app — every AI request goes through our own secure backend, where credits and limits are enforced server-side.
- 16+ audience, AI content moderation
- All AI calls routed through a secure server — no keys in the app
- Server-side credit and rate limiting
Synapse is in closed beta on Google Play right now. Google requires new indie developer accounts to run a closed test for at least 14 days with a group of testers before an app can go to production — so that's exactly what we're doing. We're using this window to polish the experience, finish in-app account deletion, and wire up the last pieces before launch.
Want in early? We'd love more testers. Send a quick email to clyrex9@gmail.com with the Google account you use on the Play Store, and we'll add you to the beta list.
Between now and the public release: in-app account deletion, credit purchases, push notifications, and another layer of backend hardening. Once the closed test window clears, Synapse goes live on Google Play — and this devlog will be there for every step, same as DeckBall's.
